Microsoft Office 2010 Holiday Templates Review

I don’t know about you, but I am one of those people who use my computer for everything. I make calendars and shopping lists and plan menus and keep track of birthdays and on and on. When I heard about some really neat holiday templates for Microsoft Office 2010 I just had to share them with you!

The Microsoft folks sent me three templates–a OneNote Recipe Book, an Excel shopping budget spreadsheet, and a Microsoft Word Menu. You have to see this One Note Recipe Book! It allows you to copy your favorite recipes from the internet, complete with pictures, AND automatically includes the website address so that 1.) you can give proper credit to the original writer and creator of the recipe, and 2.) it makes it easy to share your recipes with friends and family.

It was so easy too! I have never used One Note before, so I had to figure out how to use it, find the recipes I wanted to share, copy, paste, and do a little bit of editing, and presto! I have a very nice gluten free recipe book to share with all my family members who have to eat gluten free! See:

While I’m not one to prepare an elaborate meal and have a formal menu printed up, the idea of it is very nice. The menu makes a special touch for a family gathering, and is nice enough to be included in a scrapbook if you are into that. I edited the template in less than 5 minutes to create a frame worthy menu!

Dale Evans: Beyond The Happy Trails 2 DVD Set

If you’re like me and grew up in the 50′s and 60′s, you’ll remember Dale Evans and Roy Rogers. Did you know they were married for more than 50 years, and lost multiple children? Dale Evans: Beyond the Happy Trails, a 2 DVD documentary tells the whole story!

Despite being a destitute, divorced, single mother at the age of 16, Dale went on to be a role model for millions of young girls. She starred in more than 100 movies and television shows and wrote 28 inspirational books, including Angel Unaware, which provoked a generation to love and care for children with special needs.

The release of this documentary coincides with the 100th birthday of Roy Rogers in 2011, and the 100th birthday of Dale Evans in 2012. See It Bigger Planner Review

It's pretty, too!

As much as I hate to admit it, I am getting old (er). And along with that, it is getting harder to see things. So, when I was offered a See It Bigger Planner with large print and larger spaces to write in, I was pretty happy about that.

Large spaces for writing bigger, or for writing more!

The See It Bigger Planner is designed for us older folks who need a little help visually, but I think it would have been a handy thing to have when I had all the kids living at home. The bigger spaces allow not only for writing things larger, but also for writing MORE things on each date. That bigger space could come in mighty handy for busy Mom’s, too.

The outside cover of this planner is made of sturdy plastic, and is quite attractive. I know I will put mine to good use over the next year.

Included in the package I received was also a purse size planner. It is a bit larger than other pocket calendars I have used, but it also has larger spaces to write information in.

Cheerios Cheer: Send A Postcard

My son has been in the Air Force for more than 17 years. He serves our country proudly, but in doing so, he misses out on being with our family for most holidays. There are many military men and women, and their families, for which this is true. To help spread some holiday cheer this year, Cheerios and the USO have partnered in a postcard program to that spreads Cheer to directly to military families and supports USO programs. Here is how it works:

Now through November, 2011 at your local grocer, specially-marked boxes of Cheerios cereal will feature Cheer postcards on the front of the box. Consumers can simply cut out the postcard from the Cheerios logo, write a message of thanks on the back, add a stamp and mail the pre-addressed card to the USO. The USO will deliver the Cheer card to military families across the country.

For each postcard received through November 2012, Cheerios will make a $1 donation to the USO to help fund programs that support military families.

To kick off the campaign, Cheerios has already donated $150,000 to the USO and will donate up to an additional $100,000 based upon the number of postcards received from specially marked boxes now through November 30th, 2012.

Cheerios and My Blog Spark sent me a package that includes a box of Cheerios with the postcard on the front of the box, a cereal dispenser, a yellow Cheerios bowl, and a Cheerios spoon. And guess what? One of m lucky readers will win a prize pack that is identical to the package they sent me!
