Tassimo T-20 Brewbot

Tassimo Brewpot

If you’re like me, your day just can’t start without a good cup of coffee.  I received this Tassimo T-20 Brewbot to try out, and I have to say, it makes a pretty darn good cup of coffee. It was very easy to use, and brewed one cup at a time to provide a fresh hot cup every time. This pot is SMART! It reads the barcode on the discs and adjusts itself to brew every cup just right, whether it is plain  coffee, espresso, latte, cappacino, tea, or hot chocolate.  You insert the disc, put your cup on the cup shelf, and push the button. What could possibly be easier?

I made FabGrandpa a cup of espresso in about 1 minute! And he said it was just as good as going to a coffee shop:

He loved it!

It is easy to clean up, too. Because there is no pot, all you have to wash are the cups, then wipe down the front of the unit. The cup shelf comes off and can be put in the dishwasher. And when you need to clean the system, they have provided a cleaning disc that stores in a slot in the back.

Live Gluten Freely

General Mills in co-operation with My Blog Spark sent me a very nicely packaged box of samples of their gluten free foods. Their website, Live Gluten Freely, has lots of information for people who must eat a gluten free diet, including product news, recipes, and real life stories of people who eat gluten free. I especially like that they have a list of General Mills products that are gluten free, over 300 of them!  Most of these are normal, everyday products you can buy in most any grocery store, like Betty Crocker Rich and Creamy Frosting, Green Giant Vegetables, and five varieties of Chex Cereals.

Keep up with new additions to the gluten-free list by subscribing to the LiveGlutenFreely Newsletter. Every month, you’ll receive gluten-free recipes, tips, coupons for gluten-free items, new product information and more, delivered to your email address. Click here to sign up today! You can also become a fan on Facebook at Facebook.com/glutenfreely

Live Gluten Freely

The box of goodies I received has an assortment of items in it, including full sized packages of the new Gluten Free Bisquick, Betty Crocker Potato Buds, and  Rich & Creamy Chocolate Frosting. There is also a Betty Crocker red plastic mixing spoon! This sample pack sells for $24.99 on the Live Gluten Freely website. The info there says “This gift of assorted gluten-free products will show those new to gluten free that meals can still be easy and delicious!”

I think it would also make a great donation to a food bank, to insure that a  gluten free family would have some safe snacks and baked goods this holiday season. I gave my box to someone I know whose child has Celiac disease.

If you’d like to win a box just like the one I received, General Mills and My Blog Spark are giving one away. To enter the giveaway, go to the Live Gluten Freely website, then come back here and let me know which gluten free recipe you’d like to try. One entry per person, please.  Giveaway closes on December 14 at 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time. Winner will be chosen at random using the Random Number Generator to pick the comment number to win. This prize pack is valued at $24.99.

Truvia Swap Out Your Sweetener Challenge Winner

The give away had 25 entries, and Marcia Goss, with comment # 13 is the winner of the coffee mug and Truvia packets. Thanks to everyone who entered.

I also want to mention that I feel like  winner, too! I have used Truvia as my sweetener in my coffee and tea for 30 days. I like the taste of it, and that is is made from natural ingredients. I have type II diabetes, and had my three month average blood tests done last week–the HbA1c test is the indicator of how well you do over the three months and is a better indicator of blood glucose control over time than the daily finger prick testing. My test result for this period was 5.9, which is the lowest I have ever had. I won’t go so far as to say that Truvia did that for me, but I can say that “I” feel that it definitely helped “me”. Take that as you will.

Truvia Swap Out Your Sweetner Challenge

Truvia all natural sweetener

I received a month’s supply of Truvia so I could participate in the Swap Out Your Sweetner Challenge. I have diabetes, so I have to watch my intake of sugar. I have been using Splenda for a number of years, but I have been reading bad stuff about it for a while now. When I was asked to Swap Out My Sweetner and try Truvia, I didn’t think about it twice.

Truvia is made from the stevia plant. It is all natural, and tastes sweet without leaving an aftertaste and without being overly sweet. It mixes well into my hot coffee and tea, and is also good on my oatmeal in the mornings.

At the maptruvia.com site, anyone can sign up to get a free sample of Truvia simply by sharing any Truvia-related content they’ve found online and linking it to “Get a Free Truvía Sample!” page.  So, if you want to sign up to get a free sample, you can link this post there as your Truvia related content.

I received Truvia for free, but it does not reflect my opinions in any way. I had already bought a box of the Truvia packets before I was asked to join the challenge, so it was a plus for me. I am really enjoying the Truvia, and would recommend it to anyone who is now using another sweetener.

The Truvia folks also sent me three sample packs to share with my friends, which I promptly lost. But to make it up to you, I am going to be giving away that stainless steel coffee mug along with 10 of the individual serving packets of Truvia so you can get started on your own Swap Out Your Sweetener Challenge. Just leave me a comment, telling me what you are using now, and why you would be motivated to swap out your sweetener.  I’ll pick one winner on November 19 by random number generator. One entry per person, please.
